Pictures show 'disgusting' overflowing bins on Clifton street

Pictures shared on social media reveal how rubbish has been left overflowing out of bins on a street in Clifton.

Resident Rory Thorburn posted the pictured on Twitter on Sunday (December 15) urging Bristol Waste to tackle the eyesore and called it "disgusting".

He also said it didn't make the area look very good.

Since the pictures were shared on Sunday Bristol Waste has sent in a team to clear the area and remove the fly-tipped rubbish.

The firm has explained that the bins are a Mini Recycling Centre (MRC) that is used by properties on Oakfield Place.

A spokesperson from Bristol Waste Company said: "We periodically review these sites and increase capacity in line with the waste produced by residents.

It has been called "disgusting" (Rory Thorburn)

"Our Street Cleansing crew visited the site [on Monday] and cleared all fly-tipping.

"We would always encourage residents to report fly-tipping when they come across it as this is the best way for it to get to the correct teams who can then action their requests."
