Images showing unidentified flying objects buzzing over US Navy warships in California are real and were taken by Navy personnel, the Pentagon has said.
Photos were said to have been leaked from an official probe into UFOs which was readying evidence for Congress in June, the Mirror reports.
According to Mystery Wire the images, obtained by filmmaker Jeremy Corbell, show UFOs above four US vessels off the Californian coast in 2019.
One image shows a pyramid-shaped object and others have been listed as 'unknown.'
In a statement, a Pentagon spokesperson reportedly said: "I can confirm that the referenced photos and videos were taken by Navy personnel.
"The [Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force] has included these incidents in their ongoing examinations."
It has been reported six US Navy warships had been swarmed in July 2019 by six aircraft performing 'brazen manoeuvres' near a sensitive military training range.
Among the reports to the authorities are UFOs doing things which appear to defy explanation - including breaking the sound barrier without creating a sonic boom.
Other manoeuvres seem impossible using technology currently available to humans.
The claim was made by John Ratcliffe, who served as Director of National Intelligence under President Donald Trump.
He said there had been numerous sightings all over the world that military chiefs were unable to explain.
Details of many of the sightings are set to be released in a report by Pentagon bosses in June, he said.
