Pictures of hundreds of teenage Dublin girls some as young as 13 are being used on vile worldwide Twitter accounts

Images of hundreds of teenage Dublin girls some as young as 13 are allegedly being used on vile worldwide Twitter accounts without their consent and knowledge.

The stolen photos are said to be posted on various Twitter accounts with degrading captions accompanying the pictures.

While one of the accounts has been removed from Twitter, the others using the underage snaps are still in use.

And shockingly, the majority of the images posted on these sites are taken from the profiles of young girls from the north Dublin area, this morning's The Irish Examiner reports.

The biggest of these disgraceful Twitter sites has been suspended after nearly nine years of tweeting to over 3,000 followers.

Another worrying account of this kind has over 44,000 followers and encourages people to "rate and retweet" the pictures of the young girls.

Twitter has said that impersonation and copying of photos without consent is a violation of their rules.

The social media network has said that if an account is using your image in a “a confusing or deceptive manner”, their account could be suspended permantely.

When it comes to pictures, one way of getting a photo taken down is by filing a copyright complaint.
