Pictures of first stylish arrivals on Ladies Day at Aintree racecourse Grand National

Today is day two of the Randox Health Grand National Festival and it’s the day many fashionistas would say is the best - .

With millions of people across 125 countries tuning into watch the festival globally, it’s safe to say that the world is watching, and racegoers are dressed to the nines for the occasion.

This year, ITV Racing stylist, Sarah Kate Byrne, Jay Hynd and a representative from the official Style Award Partner, Chi Chi London, will be searching the course for the most stylish racegoer, who stands to win a top prize.

While model and actress, Amy Jackson, is the 2019 Randox Health Grand National Ladies Day ambassador.

The winner of the Style Award will leave with a prize worth over £35,000, including a brand new Range Rover Evoque.

Things not to miss on Ladies Day at Aintree Racecourse

Here are the timings for the Style Award that you need to know:

  • 10.30am Gates open and entries for the Style Award begin
  • 2.45pm Competition entries close for the Style Award
  • 3.10pm The finalists are announced. Look out on the big screens
  • 3.30pm Interviews with the finalists
  • 3.45pm The winner of the Style Award is crowned in the Red Rum Garden

As well as the Range Rover, one fashionable racegoer will win a year’s supply of dresses from Chi Chi London.

Mike Parry, General Sales Manager at Hatfields Land Rover said: “We are delighted to be offering the brand new Range Rover Evoque D180 S as the Ladies Day Style Award prize.  “The new model was unveiled in November and is available from mid-March so this will be one of the first on the road.  

“Ladies Day at Aintree is one of the biggest days in Liverpool and to be a part of the Randox Health Festival is fantastic.”

What about the racing?

Andrew Tulloch, Clerk of the Course at Aintree, said at 9.00am today: “There was 12 millimetres of rain yesterday, which finished around 8pm. We then had a dry night.

“The forecast for today is that there is a band of rain just sitting to the south of us which will bring some drizzle this morning. This should hopefully clear by mid-morning.

“After that, it should be a bright afternoon but will remain breezy.

“I am keeping the going as Soft on all courses at the moment.”
