Here is a picture of the monkey caught by Gardai during a series of North Dublin stings.
Two machine guns, a magnum, a silencer and 200 rounds of ammunition were also seized by officers who are understood to be targeting an organised crime gang involved in the drug trade in Dunsink, Finglas.
In the photo, the small monkey can be seen crouched at the back of a steel cage.

Gardai have arrested two men under the Offences Against State Act and they can be held for a maximum of three days.
A large number of gardai are at the scene including specialist armed units such as the ERU and ASU.
Gardai said they are unable to comment as it is an ongoing operation but will reveal details later.
A source said: "This is a big hit against Organised Crime in the FInglas area - a .357 magnum revolver, a scorpion machine gun and another sub machine gun. There is also €100,000 worth of cocaine.
"This operation was heavily intelligence led and is a big strike against a group of young gangsters."
