Pictures from Africa Oye festival show crowds having a fantastic time in Sefton Park on Sunday

This year has been the 27th annual Africa Oye festival - the biggest free event of its kind in the country.

The festival, that takes place in Sefton Park over two days, is one of the most renowned African and Caribbean music and culture events in the world.

It attracts more than 50,000 people from across the world to Liverpool, every year, and this year has been no different.

Today the 'boundary-pushing' Garifuna Collective from Belize are closing the festival and are joined by the likes of BCUC and Sofiane Saidi and Mazalda on the main stage.

As well as main musical performances, Oye also has a number events and activities for all ages.

The Oye Activity Zone (OAZ) is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year with plenty to do for all the family including dance workshops and practice yoga.
