Pictures as gardai seize €400,000 of cannabis after drugs bust at grow house in Claremorris, Co Mayo

Gardai have seized around €400,000 worth of cannabis during a major seizure at a grow house in Co Mayo.

The large haul of drugs were discovered after a search at a premises in Ballinastanford, Claremorris on Monday afternoon.

Pictures released by gardai show the sophisticated and large scale set up at the abandoned home.

Gardai say no arrests have yet been made following the discovery.

A statement said: "This afternoon Monday 27th April 2020, Gardaí from the Claremorris Community Engagement Unit assisted by members of the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit conducted a search at a disused premises at Ballinastanford, Claremorris, County Mayo.

"During the course of the search, it was discovered that this disused premises had been converted into a cannabis grow house with insulation lighting and heat fitted out to facilitate large scale production.

"Over 500 cannabis plants with an estimated value of approximately €400,000 were seized (subject to analysis).

"No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing."
