A 30-year-old man who was stabbed to death at a home in Ilford has been pictured for the first time.
Gurjeet Singh, known as Gary, was stabbed to death following an altercation at an address in Felbrigge Road, Ilford on Wednesday, July 23.
Officers were called to the scene by London Ambulance Service who treated Gary for stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he sadly died at the scene.
Gary’s family have paid tribute to a “well-loved man” and “true social butterfly” who had a “remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met.”
In a statement, they said: “Gary was a well-loved man who had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met.
“A true social butterfly, nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his family. Gary will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in our hearts forever.”
On Wednesday, July 23, officers arrested Amardeep Singh, 27, of Redbridge, on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey for trial on Monday, January 5 2026.
Detectives also arrested a 29-year-old man and three women aged 29, 30 and 54.
They have all since been bailed until October 2025 while enquiries continue.
