Pictured: Harry Kane seen with leg strapped after key brace in England win

Harry Kane was spotted wearing strapping on his left calf after inspiring England to victory over Croatia in their opening World Cup match.

England’s captain enjoyed a superb campaign for Bayern Munich and did not miss a beat as he turned attention seamlessly into international business.

He scored twice in the first half as the Three Lions roared past Croatia in Arlington, Texas, but some injury concern surfaced at full-time.

Kane, 32, was seen holding his calf towards the end of the match after tracking back to block a shot, and was spotted at full-time wearing strapping on the affected leg as he greeted family members in the stands.

It is not immediately clear whether he has picked up an injury, or if the strapping is purely precautionary. Kane appeared to be moving freely as he left the ground.

Kane suffered a calf injury in March as Bayern Munich closed in on the Bundesliga title, which manager Vincent Kompany described as a knock.

Speaking on Kane’s performance at full-time, Tuchel said: “To see the commitment of our captain, of our No9 in the extra time, to block a crucial shot with all his body. His commitment to buy into a defensive action like this, then you know everything about his performance today.

“Complete performance, absolute leader. He is all in physically, he is all-in mentally, and he is all in as a full package at the moment. He wants it, he leads by example, we are very happy.”

Declan Rice also seemed to pick up a knock in the match, but the player insisted that he is “as good as gold” as he spoke to ITV Sport post-match.
