Pictured: Brave Dublin Fire Brigade crew battles car blaze in Finglas

This is the moment firefighters battled a car blaze in Finglas today.

The brave crew raced to the scene of the fire on Ratoath Road earlier this afternoon.

Images show thick smoke billowing from the vehicle as members of the Dublin Fire Brigade attempt to put out to flames.

The pictures were shared on Twitter by a DFB spokesperson with the caption: “Finglas firefighters extinguishing a vehicle fire on the Ratoath Road this afternoon.

“In addition to water our fire engines can pump foam which is better when dealing with fuels like petrol.”

Earlier in the week, Dublin Fire Brigade were called to a northside motorway after a car went up in flames.

The scary incident happened on the M1 northbound, causing the road to close to traffic for a short time.

As a result of the fire, smoke was spreading and caused visibility problems for drivers.

Firefighters from the Swords and Balbriggan stations responded, and DFB reminded the public that motorways can be dangerous work places.
