The festive season kicked off in Hamilton when the town centre’s Christmas lights were switched on.
And the crowds who gathered to cheer the event were entertained by chart-toppers 5ive – currently a three-piece act – singing some of their hits.
Across the town centre, shoppers found more festive fun including street theatre performers, fair rides, superheroes, a snowglobe, a brass band, and a performance from the Jersey Tones.
Hamilton Business Improvement District manager Gareth Walker said: “Saturday’s light switch-on was a real hit.
“This was a real family-friendly community event.
“As ever, we are grateful to Provost Ian McAllan for helping Santa switch on the lights.
“It was a great day, so we now have a task to beat it in 2020!”
