Picture shows smoke billowing into the sky as fire crews tackle blaze in Netherfield

Emergency services were called to extinguish a garage fire in Netherfield on Tuesday evening (September 29).

Firefighters attended the incident in Louise Avenue at around 5.05pm.

Two hose reels were needed to bring the flames under control.

They had taken hold of the garage, which measured 10x10 metres.

According to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, there were no injuries sustained in the blaze.

A spokeswoman said: "Carlton Fire Station, London Road and Arnold Fire Station attended.

"It was one garage 10 metres by 10 metres. They used two hose reels."

The fire has now been extinguished.
