Picture shows moment bullock is winched out of swimming pool

A wandering bullock ended up in a swimming pool and had to be winched to safety by firefighters. The late-night drama happened in Devon last on Thursday night (March 31).

The fire crews had been called to Westerland, near Paignton, in Devon at around 11pm to save the young animal. It is thought the bullock escaped a nearby field before ending up in the pool - in someone's garden.

Buckfastleigh Fire Station posted pictures of the rescue on social media and said the animal was checked over by a vet after it was saved. A statement said: "A young bullock [...] decided to leave his field in favour for a late night swim in a nearby swimming pool.

"Teams used specialist harnesses and lifting slings along with a telehandler to carefully lift him to a place of safety." Commenting on the post, one respondent remarked: "Quite a moooooving experience for you..."
