Picture shows huge gaggle of geese causing 'total gridlock' on university campus

A remarkable picture shows a huge gaggle of geese waddling in a very orderly fashion along a road on the University of Nottingham's largest campus.

David Foster, an assistant professor in law, spotted the birds in East Drive, just outside the Portland Building in University Park on October 1.

He joked there was "total gridlock" on the road as he headed into work in the morning.

The picture shows around 40 geese walking in an almost perfect line through the university campus.

The brilliant spectacle comes after some fowl play back on Monday, September 30, when a goose found itself trapped in the back of a taxi.

The brazen bird "crashed" through the windscreen shortly after taxi driver Nayyar Tabasam dropped a passenger off near Dunkirk.

Radford Road Police, whose officers attended the first incident, decided to chip in on Mr Foster's picture, adding: "Well it would appear the Geese are really in town!"

This time round, however, the geese remained out of trouble.
