Picture shows extent of damage after car crashes into Nottingham wedding dress shop

A wedding dress shop on a main road in Nottingham is being gutted after it was "devastated" by a car in a crash.

Kathryn Parsons, the owner, insisted "we are not closed" after the incident at Dream Wedding Dress in Derby Road shortly after 2pm on Monday, December 27.

The designer wedding boutique and has been open since 2009.

Pictures from the scene of the incident, where a vehicle careered into the shop, show workers gutting the building.

It is also understood the building had to be 'propped up' due to the significant amount of damaged caused.

Part of the Canning Circus one-way system was closed all morning while emergency services worked at the scene, with Nottinghamshire Police confirming nobody had been arrested or injured as a result of the crash.

Ms Parsons previously said: "We’ve just got to carry on, I don’t want anyone to be worried, anyone who has ordered anything will not be affected.

"We will sort it out and we are not closed."
