Picture shows car flipped on its side at busy A52 roundabout - which caused long delays

This picture captured a car on its side after it flipped on part of the Bramcote Island on the A52 - causing long delays to traffic.

It caused one-and-a-half miles of tailbacks on approach to the A52 eastbound where it happened.

The incident was first reported at around 4pm on Monday, August 17.

Drivers were delayed by around 40 minutes, according to Highways England.

The central island cut-through, where the crash happened, was closed off by emergency services.

Nottinghamshire Live contacted Nottinghamshire Police for more information - but the extent of any injuries is unknown.

Trentbarton tweeted at 5pm to say the road had been reopened.

Services had missed a number of stops due to the incident.
