Picture Scotland: stunning skies above Scotland provide inspiration for winning pic

We should all have our heads in the clouds – as these pictures of skies across Scotland show.

While our scenery, lochs, castles, and wildlife are renowned throughout the world – it seems the space above us should be too.

Just look at Pamela Green’s £100 winning photo of clouds rippling across the sky over Alloa Harbour.

Or the yellow and orange sunset from Irvine Beach taken by Tracy Gemmell with horses adding interest in the centre of the photo.

Emma Angus also showed us her top spot to take photos looking across Stonehaven Bay with the sky alight with a fiery orange and the sun offering one last beam of yellow.

And check out the Titan crane touching a purple sunset, taken by 14-year-old Ashley Wilson, from Clydebank.

Best of all, we’ll be running the competition every week with changing themes and subjects, meaning you’ll have plenty of chances to not only show off your skills but also be in with a shot of winning the £100.

Good luck!
