Picture Scotland: stunning shot of morning walk through swirling snow takes top prize

We may be awestruck at Nasa’s Perseverance rover’s photos from Mars but Scotland’s scenery is also out of this world.

Check out Alan Jones’s £100 winning photo of a morning walk through swirling snow up Scald Law – the highest of the Pentland Hills in Midlothian.

Also inspired by our beautiful countryside was Linda Henderson who snapped a dramatic photo of St Abbs and surrounding choppy seas in the Borders.

Two readers have also taken photos of some of the amazing sunsets we’ve been having.

First Faye McSpurren captured a stunning shot of the sun going down at Heritage Park in East Kilbride.

While Beryl Weir in Glasgow was inspired by the sunset around the SSE Hydro close to the Clyde.

And check out Eileen Power’s pic of her dog admiring the view at Fassfern near Fort William.

Best of all, we’ll be running the competition every week with changing themes and subjects, meaning you’ll have plenty of chances to not only show off your skills but also be in with a shot of winning the £100.

Good luck!
