Picture Scotland: Scots family snap beautiful sunset over Kintyre

Stunning sunsets have inspired snappers across Scotland to capture the wild colours of the evening skies.

This week’s winner was taken by Melissa Harkins while her family were on holiday at Craig Tara in Ayr.

Melissa’s daughter and her pals are enjoying the sun setting over Kintyre in the distance – with the pink tones in the sky reflected in the waves.

Also in Ayrshire, Ian Barnes caught the sun going down behind Ailsa Craig at Lendalfoot.

Meanwhile, Carl Taylor took a great shot of Drumpellier Country Park in Coatbridge.

Back in Ayrshire, Paul McCubbin caught a view from Troon beach.

The blue and pink clouds in the foreground contrast with the yellows and oranges on the horizon.
