Picture Scotland: Scot snaps fun pic of spooky face in ruins of Jedburgh Abbey ahead of Halloween

Mark Reynolds framed the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey into a spooky face for this brilliant pre-Halloween shot.

It’s all about the angles – he got down low to make sure the arch formed the mouth with the building beyond.

He is this week’s £100 winner.

Loch Uaine, in the Cairngorms, translates as “the green lochan” for a reason. Louise Muirhead caught the colours perfectly in this shot.

The contrast from two yellow-leafed trees and the sand in the foreground makes the colour pop.

Castle Stalker, in Appin, is one of the treats of driving from Oban to Glencoe. Kenny Macfarlane caught it in golden afternoon sunlight, with a bird of prey circling to the left of the shot.

A snowy peak makes a great contrast to the shades on the banks of Loch Laich.
