Picture Scotland: Scot captures bee-utiful photo at Blackness Castle

Robert Wellcoat got this honey of a shot at Blackness Castle on the shores of the Forth.

Taken in the gardens there, the detail is awesome, right down to the bumble bee’s (known as a Foggy bummer in Scots) transparent wings and the bristles of its furry back.

You better bee-lieve he is our £100 winner this week.

Elsewhere, Ann Gibb caught the heathery tones of the sun setting over Glasgow from Cathkin Braes.

The colours in the sky are echoed by the hues on the hillside.

The former steel plant at Ravenscraig is now a playpark for children and John Dyer’s fascinating shot plays up the use of metal in the new facility.
