Picture Scotland: Image of cascading waterfall near Fintry has wow factor

All the elements fell into place when photography student Murron Rose Dunn took this week’s Picture Scotland £100 winner, of the Loup of Fintry.

The waterfall, near Fintry in Stirlingshire, is at its best when there has been heavy rain or snowfall, otherwise, it’s more of a trickle.

Speaking about the beautiful shot, Murron said: "It was such a beautiful, tranquil night, and the conditions were perfect for photography."

Mark Reynolds got lucky with the weather at Camusdarach beach on Arisaig recently.

Despite the stunning blue sky, there was only one person on the shore to enjoy the view of Rum and Eigg in the distance.

Drumpellier Country Park in Coatbridge was the setting for a spectacular sunset shot by Carl Taylor which saw a contrast between nature and the area’s industrial landscape.

There were also beautiful shots by Brant Adam, who captured a unique angle of a rock pool in Glencoe.

While Ian Barnes was on hand to catch a striking shot of a man fishing at sunset in Lendalfoot on the Ayrshire coast with the eye-catching Ailsa Craig in the background.
