This week’s winning photo in our fantastic Picture Scotland contest is a reminder of the genius of the late pop star Prince.
Fiona Crumlish’s image of Glasgow’s Buchanan Street could be titled Purple Rain as she captured the shopping thoroughfare getting a good evening soaking to win the £100 prize.
The usually busy street is deserted but it shimmers in the evening downpour - looking like a modern painting.

Russell MacSorley’s stunning photo of the This Journey’s End sculpture has a couple touching hands – reminding us of what things will return to when this virus eventually goes away.
An orange-and-purple sunset perfectly sets off the Andy Scott artwork on the Marywood
roundabout on the outskirts of
Clackmannan. At least they are connecting.

And while some of us are finding lockdown hard, if you lived in one of the houses in Luss, Dunbartonshire, photographed by Kennylee Murray, you wouldn’t mind.
The frosty scene is given warmth by billowing smoke from the chimneys and the orange glow of the street lamps.
An even more wintry scene is James Loughran’s photo of The Falls of Clyde at New Lanark.
It’s like a screenshot from the hit movie Frozen.
