Picture Scotland: Beautiful shot of pink sunrise over Dumbarton wins this week's £100 prize

The winter weather certainly provided inspiration for this week's Picture Scotland entries.

A beautiful shot of the pink and purple sky over Dumbarton made reader Mark Murray this week’s winner.

Taken from Mark’s flat at 6am as day broke, the early riser captured the moment the beautiful sunrise colours were mirrored in the water below.

While Jamie Williamson took this picture of his son playing in the snow on New Year’s Day. He said: “The sunlight lit up against the mist, creating an incredible light, almost ethereal.”

Our wee country looks picture perfect in the winter months as Lorna Boyd found.

She captured a snowy scene at her favourite spot in Almond Park, Livingston.

It seems that early morning photographers catch the worm.
