Picture Scotland: Beautiful shot captures waterfall on Arran in its winter glory

Winter isn’t known for its colours but Gary Chittick captured a spectrum of them with this week’s Picture Scotland winner.

He was walking near Kidonan on Arran when he took this shot of the Eas Mor waterfall.

One of our runners-up was John Dewar, whose photo shows horizontal icicles on fence posts near Loch Tay.

The striking feature perhaps tells its own story about the recent gales.

Ian Barnes caught what he described as the rare cloud formation known as a fallstreak hole. It’s left behind when supercooled water droplets crystallise and fall from the sky.

Think you’ve got a winning entry for Picture Scotland?

Good luck!
