Picture of the day: the Duchess of Cambridge at the War Horse premiere

For her latest trick, the Duchess of Cambridge went head to head with a horse on the red carpet. She wore black lace. Obviously. During Sunday night's London premiere of Steven Spielberg’s new film, War Horse, Kate won yet more sartorial accolades for her latest floor-length Temperley London gown, which she accessorised with a black velvet clutch bag. This outfit was much in keeping with the signature Duchess wardrobe: conservative but pretty. It looked best from the side when you got a bit of skirt swoosh. Meanwhile, the BIG question remains: how does she get her hair that shiny?
