PICTURE GALLERY: 500 people attend Coatbridge superhero fun run

Superheroes of all shapes and sizes enjoyed the latest event put on by comic-book writer Mark Millar’s foundation.

Excited kids and their young-at-heart parents donned costumes and blasted round the 5k course at Drumpellier Country Park on a Saturday bathed in sunshine.

A delighted Mark told the Advertiser: “The superhero fun run couldn’t have gone better. We had around 500 people show up dressed as superheroes, which meant I came in around 500th!

“We had a scorcher of a day, which gave the whole event a brilliant Coatbridge carnival vibe.

“We were all buzzing after the event and want to make this an annual thing.”
