Picture appeal as man with 'sword' captured in burglary

Police have released a picture of a man with a 'sword' who they want to speak to following a burglary in Wigan.

The burglary reportedly happened at around 2.30am this morning (December 13) in the Aspull area. Police said four suspects were believed to have been involved.

Officers shared a picture of a man believed to be 'carrying a metal bar or sword' who they want to trace following the incident. Anyone with information is being urged to get in touch.

A post on the GMP Wigan Facebook page said: "Please see the photograph. We need help identifying a person in regards to a Burglary in Aspull on the 13th Dec 2022 at approximately 02:30hrs. 4 x suspects are believed to be involved.

"Got information? - contact Wigan police on 0161 856 7124 or via email - WiganWest@gmp.police.uk or 5126@gmp.police.uk quoting CRI/06LL/0038814/22 or anonymously via Crimestoppers - tel 0800 555 111. The person in the photo appears to carrying a metal bar or sword."
