Joan Lindsay’s haunting tale has been etched into Australian mythology, thanks to the 1975 film adaptation by Peter Weir. Set on Valentine’s Day, in 1900, three private school girls and their teacher go missing during a picnic at Hanging Rock, Victoria. The community is lost to know what to do.
In a world premiere, playwright Tom Wright presents his theatre adaptation, directed by Matthew Luton. Five actors, including Harriet Gordon-Anderson, Arielle Gray and Amber McMahon, are placed at the centre of the mystery in an attempt to solve it. However the potential for history to repeat itself is nightmarishly real.
