The 2019 Georgia football signing class is officially complete. In total, the Bulldogs brought in 24 high school prospects on scholarship and finished in the Top 2 amongst all rankings systems.
Rivals claims Georgia signed the nation’s top class for the second-straight year, while 247Sports and ESPN believe it was Alabama. Regardless, the Bulldogs finished very high and had another incredible recruiting season.
Below, we will identify the highlights of this year’s class, along with a player who we think will surprise some folks.
Highlights of the class
WDE: Nolan Smith
ILB: Nakobe Dean
OC: Clay Webb
DT: Tray Walker
CB: Tyrique Stevenson
WR: George Pickens
WR: Dominick Blaylock
Georgia signed a plethora of talent this year but these are the five players we believe to be the highlights of the class.
Aside from Stevenson’s late announcement and Pickens’ unexpected flip, all of these players were already signed with Georgia however.
Potential to be a breakout star
TE: Ryland Goede
TE: Brett Seither
RB: Kenny McIntosh
PWO WR: Ty James
We decided to put Goede and Seither are on this list because Georgia does not use its tight that often. If the Bulldogs target them, then they have the potential to shine in Athens.
McIntosh made the list because his name has been overlooked by most for the likes of Alabama signee Trey Sanders, LSU signee John Emery Jr., and Penn State signee Noah Cain.
James chose Georgia as a preferred walk-on, instead of accepting a scholarship offer to Yale. His stat-line at Greater Atlanta Christian School included 49 receptions for 1,145 yards and 13 touchdowns. Be on the lookout for him in the next couple seasons to make an impact in Athens, possibly similar to that of former Clemson walk-on Hunter Renfrow.
There are so many talented players in the 2019 class for Georgia but we could only list so many in each category.
Since Kirby Smart’s arrival in Athens, the Bulldogs have signed a Top 3 class every year.
