Picket founder Philip Hayes has been found safe and well

A well known figure from Liverpool's music scene has been found safe and well after being reported missing from home.

Yesterday police appealed for information about the whereabouts of Philip Hayes who was last seen at his home address in the Mossley Hill area on Sunday afternoon.

However police have now said that Mr Hayes has been found safe and well.

Philip Hayes founded The Picket in the early 1980s, with the help of The Who's Pete Townshend. He later worked with well known local bands such as the The La's, The Real People and Cast.

He organised many music and cultural events in the city. In more recent years he was based at Sefton Arts for Everyone (SAFE) in Bootle. In 2016 he was commissioned to create a series of collages which were displayed in the Baltic Triangle.

A police spokesman said: "Philip Hayes, who was missing from home has been found safe and well."
