The Scottish drink makers behind the popular Pickering's Gin have just announced their latest flavour - and it's sure to delight pumpkin spice fans.
The team at Summerhall Distillery have created a unique twist on the ‘hot drink of the season’ that will get coffee-lovers buzzing this autumn.
The Pickering’s Pumpkin Spice Latte Gin is based on the original recipe for Pickering’s 1947 Gin, and is a classic London dry with a "warm and spicy kick" that's described as the perfect spirit to "warm your cockles this autumn".
Using 13 different botanicals, the team say Pickering’s Pumpkin Spice Latte Gin is a delicate blend of sweet vanilla and cinnamon spice, that leads to a subtle finish of freshly ground coffee.
Co-Founder and Head Distiller, Matt Gammell, explained that creating the special gin took a bit of effort, he said: “This was a challenging, but exciting project for us.
"It was essential we harmonised the unique flavours of Pumpkin Spice with our original gin recipe, which required a lot of experimenting, tasting and perfecting.
"In particular, working with coffee was a new direction for us and it was especially interesting when balancing the spices, with the sweetness of the vanilla and the bitterness and bite of the coffee. We hope it’s a product our customers can genuinely enjoy and have fun with.”
The new gin is priced at £10 for a 20cl bottle and is available exclusively at pickeringgin.com as a limited-edition product for the Autumn and Winter.
