Mikel Arteta and Edu promised a busy summer transfer window and they certainly delivered, at least in terms of the sheer amount of deals the club completed between July 1 and August 31.
First of all, Arsenal were the highest spenders in the Premier League, outlaying a whopping £148million on six new recruits - Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale.
With Ramsdale and White the eldest of the new recruits at the ripe age of 23, it signals a new philosophy in Arsenal's recruitment in terms of building for the future.
And whilst six new faces were brought in, as many as 20 players left the club either permanently on loan, the most notable the likes of David Luiz, Hector Bellerin, Willian, Alex Runarsson, Dani Ceballos and many more.
