Pick your Newcastle United starting XI for crunch clash against Frank Lampard's Everton

Newcastle host Everton at St James’ Park on Tuesday night as the Magpies look to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Victory at Leeds last time out feels like a lifetime ago, with a sunny expedition to Saudi Arabia and a manic final week of the transfer window taking priority during the Premier League’s two-week winter break.

Eddie Howe’s squad is bolstered by five new signings and £40million marquee man Bruno Guimaraes has been declared fit to start.

However, the Toon boss refused to reveal whether the Brazilian would be thrown into the side for the crucial top-flight clash.

Speaking ahead of the game, Howe said: "There's always a period of adjustment.

“The adjustment is bigger if you come from a different league so with Bruno we'll have to assess him & decide how quickly we transition him into the team."

Deadline-day additions Dan Burn and Matt Targett also got a mention, with the former a doubt against the Toffees due to a toe injury.

"I'm really excited to see them transition into the team,” he added.

“They're experienced Premier League players who have both done well for their respective clubs prior to joining us. Dan has a slight toe problem which is hopefully not too serious."
