Pick the Bolton Wanderers team you want Ian Evatt to select vs Newcastle United under 21s

Bolton Wanderers are in midweek action in the Papa John's Trophy when they take on Newcastle United under 21s.

The Trotters will play the Magpies' youngsters in the Northern Group C of the recently rebranded EFL Trophy.

The group is already decided with both Shrewsbury Town and Crewe Alexandra sealing qualification with six points each.

Bolton and Newcastle's under 21s are both yet to register a point in the competition and so cannot qualify for the next stage.

Ian Evatt's side go into the game on the back of a victory against Salford City in League Two on Friday evening.

And the Wanderers head coach has suggested that changes will be made for the clash against the Magpies.

The Trotters head coach will be obliged to play five players who featured in the previous match, as per the competition rules.

For the game against the Ammies, Evatt made four changes from the FA Cup defeat to Crewe Alexandra.

Matt Gilks came in for young goalkeeper Billy Crellin, while Gethin Jones and Eoin Doyle returned from their respective injury layoffs.

Andrew Tutte also started in central midfield in place of Tom White.

Have your say on the Bolton team you want to see starting against Newcastle's under 21s with our team selector below.

The lineup will be revealed around an hour before kick-off at the University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday, November 17.
