Friday night is Culture Night, which means the entire city will be buzzing with events, workshops, fun and creativity.
But this is Dublin, and that means that there is plenty going on all weekend, whether or not you're planning to find out what Culture Night has to offer. Here's our pick of the weekend's other highlights.
THEATRE

Educating Rita at dlr Mill Theatre (until Saturday)
Best known for the 1983 movie adaptation starring Julie Walters and Michael Caine, this production stars Róisín Sullivan and Garry Mountain, who also directs.
COMEDY
Father Ted Madness at Laughter Lounge (Friday to Sunday)
Father Ted favourites Eoin McLove (aka Pat McDonnell) and Father Damo (Joe Rooney) will be gracing the stage all weekend – not to mention the Lovely Girls competition. Careful now.

Monkstown International Puppet Festival at various venues, Monkstown (Saturday)
Get down to Monkstown for a day of strings-attached performances, events and workshops for all ages.
TRAD
The Legend of Luke Kelly at The Civic, Tallaght (Saturday)
Multitalented Dublin musician Chris Kavanagh celebrates the life and legacy of the man often dubbed the greatest folk artist of the 20th century.
FESTIVAL
Stable Ground: The Red Stables Festival at Saint Anne’s Park (Saturday)
This familiy-friendly festival will celebrate locally produced food and art, nature and sustainability in the gorgeous surroundings of Saint Anne’s Park. Celebrity chef Rachel Allen (above) will be among the attractions.
CULTURE

BlueFire Street Fest at Smithfield Square (Saturday)
This socially responsible and ‘conscious festival’ will have a day of talks, workshops, music and food from around the world.
CLUB
Photon: Ben Klock, DVS1 and support at District 8 (Saturday)
Two of the biggest names in techno will be doing their thing in Swords this Saturday night.
MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness Mini Fest at The Clockwork Door (Sunday)
There’s meditation, yoga, tarot reading, vegan and vegetarian food and plenty more at this event run by mindfulness expert Abdullah Ahmad.
