In April 1815, Mount Tambora in Indonesia exploded, producing the greatest volcanic blast ever recorded. The resulting pyroclastic flow of ash, pumice and gas killed around 120,000 people in the volcano's immediate vicinity. The eruption also caused climate changes across the world; and 1816 was known as "the year without summer" as clouds of dust cut out the sunlight. A documentary featuring footage of the first archaeological excavations around Tambora, diggings that yield the gruesome sight of "intensively carbonised" human remains.

For those of you interested, the house has been redesigned to be "aspirational" yet "claustrophobic" (really), "new surprises" are promised and Davina McCall is again on hand to anchor proceedings with all the subtlety of a screeching Club 18-30 rep.

Neil Hamilton pelted with fish, an abusive bloke dressed as a budgie, a ludicrous chopper stunt and a host spanked by showgirls. As produced by Chris Evans, this is post-pub telly that revels in vulgarity. It's also fabulously entertaining thanks to speed-gobbed Vegas, who at one point somehow conjures both comedy and pathos from a combination of self-loathing, a toilet break and an ITV Digital ad-spoofing "angry baboon".
