Iarnród Éireann has placed a piano in Cork's train station for the public to use to celebrate World Piano Day.
Irish Rail have been encouraging punters to jump on the stool and play some tunes for their fellow train riders in Kent Station throughout the morning.
Piano Day is an annual worldwide event founded by piano lovers and takes place today - the 88th day of the year - because of the number of keys on the instrument. Relief for North Dublin families as homes will not be demolished to make way for MetroLink

The official website www.pianoday.org's homepage description explains the importance of the day of celebration for one of the most popular instruments in theworld.

It says: "The aim of the day is to create a platform for piano related projects in order to promote the development of musical dimensions and to continue sharing the centuries-old joy of playing piano. Railway bridge in Co Dublin was the most-struck bridge in Ireland last year
