CHENNAI: Schools are exercising caution in reopening for all classes from Tuesday. Some want to continue with online classes for primary classes, while others want to reopen all classes. Following Covid norms like social distancing may not be possible though, say some schools.

Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidhyashram in Kilpauk, which is reopening fully after nearly two years, has so far only conducted exams and tests in physical mode.

“We will start physical classes for Classes VI to XII while a shift system will be followed for the rest,” said principal P G Subramanian.

GRT Mahalakshmi Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Ashok Nagar plans to hold online classes for primary students for a few more days. “We will reopen for Classes VI to XII. For the first few days, it will function only till 1pm to avoid sharing food during lunch,” said principal Agnes Rita.

MCC Higher Secondary School in Chetpet plans to conduct half-a-day classes for VI to IX for the first two weeks.

Government schools and corporation schools plan to call all students from Tuesday. Under a revised schedule, the first revision test for Classes X and XII will be condcuted from February 9 to 16 and the second from March 28 to April 5.
