Photos show the big change being made at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium this summer

Work never stops at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and that's certainly the case this summer.

While the new 62,062-seater stadium opened officially in April, after two test event matches, with the Premier League game against Crystal Palace, there is still more to be done.

Further work needs to take place on the management system inside the ground over the summer, to iron out any issues noticed during the nine matches played there, including the two test event games.

Haringey Council's officers are currently in the process of undertaking inspections at the stadium on a regular basis to decide whether Tottenham will be awarded a permanent safety certificate, which are reviewed annually, for next season.

The situation at the stadium will be reviewed by the council's Safety Advisory Group during the summer and a decision made.

Some reports have claimed that officials at the new stadium in north London face an anxious wait to see whether they will be able to open it to the public next season.

However, football.london understands that while there is work still to be done, the club is confident that the stadium will meet all the requirements set out by the council and that no events at all are threatened by the situation.

There were also plans to lay a new pitch at the new stadium and photos appearing across social media appear to suggest that process is under way.

You can see the photos from inside and outside the stadium this week in the gallery below:

The pitch sits on three retractable trays as part of an innovative system that takes the entire pitch in its three rolling sections under the south stand so that the artificial surface underneath can be used for NFL matches and concerts.

Mauricio Pochettino's players will be playing on a fresh pitch next season as the groundsmen and women at the club continue to perfect the turf in its new surroundings.
