Photos of the 'Welsh Cathedral' on Princes Avenue show scale of disrepair of landmark building

Haunting images of Liverpool's Welsh Presbyterian Church have emerged and show the state of dilapidation of the landmark building on Princes Avenue in Toxteth.

Liverpool's tallest building when it was constructed in 1867, the church, also nicknamed the "Welsh Cathedral" has a spire that stands at 200ft high.

The grade-II listed structure has lain derelict since the 1990s, although recently it was announced that the Mersey Preservation Trust working alongside KIND will be bringing the structure back to life to create a community hub.

While the site continues to lay derelict, and local urban explorer has gained access and taken remarkable photographs of the interior which show the sorry state of this iconic Toxteth building.
