Police custody images have been released following the sentencing of a man who tried to kill a cyclist. The girlfriend of the man found guilty of attempted murder stopped others from helping the victim as the victim was knifed in the head. The officer in the case also released a statement with the mugshots showing 23-year-old Miran Amir and his partner, Anna Wolska, aged 39, both of Colwick Road, Sneinton, after they were jailed on Friday (March 10).
Amir - who fled to the UK after a "terrorist organisation" went into his village and started slaughtering people - stabbed Daniel Walicki four times after he made rude comments about Wolska in the street. Wolska directed her partner, Amir, to attack him, then prevented his friends from helping the victim on the corner of Sneinton Dale and Port Arthur Road, Sneinton Dale, in March last year.
Wolska was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and received five years in prison today, while Amir was jailed for 23 years for attempted murder. Miran was found guilty of additional charges of having a bladed article, and assault, causing bodily harm, to a second man, and lesser concurrent sentences were imposed on those. The judge, at Nottingham Crown Court, said to round off the incident Miran had approached Mr Walicki's friend and punched him for no good reason, causing a black eye and cut.

Detective Constable Ruth Towle, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a shocking and extreme act of violence that resulted in catastrophic injuries. The brutal nature of the attack and blows inflicted could easily have resulted in far worse consequences and had a fatal outcome for the victim.
“This assault was violent and sustained and took place in broad daylight in the heart of a tight-knit community which was full of children who had just finished their school day and members of the public using the local shops. I’d like to thank those members of the public who came to his aid and called for an ambulance following this incident which would undoubtedly have been a very traumatic experience for them also.
“I would also like to thank the investigation team and staff from various police teams whose diligent work went towards ensuring these violent offenders were successfully brought to justice. I hope this sentence sends out a clear message that violence of any kind on our streets will not be tolerated and we will bring offenders to justice.”
