A pair of exhibitions opened at the Yomiuri Shimbun's headquarters in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, on Monday, in anticipation of the start of the Rugby World Cup on Sept. 20.

The "Yomiuri Shimbun RWC Press Photo Exhibition" and "Tracking Footprints of the Japan National Rugby Team" will last through Sept. 30.

The photo exhibition features among its displays a large collage of 12 photographs, including one of the dramatic try that secured Japan's come-from-behind victory against South Africa in a pool-stage match at the 2015 World Cup. The other exhibition features valuable memorabilia such as balls used in the match against South Africa and a jigsaw puzzle made by the national team members during the 2015 effort. "It's powerful and reminds me of the excitement of the last tournament," said a 70-year-old man from Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, who was admiring the photo collage.

Fifteen replica mini-balls per day will be offered to visitors by lottery.

The exhibitions are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are closed on Sundays and national holidays. The lottery ends at 5 p.m. on weekdays. Admission is free.
