The Boston Celtics came into TD Garden on Thursday night with an 11-0 record at home for the season, with designs on pushing it to 12-0 vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers, a feat they haven’t accomplished since winning their last title in 2007-08.
And despite a late push from the Cavs in the game’s second half, the Celtics won a wire-to-wire victory on their home floor, the outcome of the game never truly in doubt. Boston’s only notable advantage in the contest was how they protected the rim, blocking 8 Cleveland shot attempts to the Cavs’ sole swat. That and a 7-point advantage in points scored in position was enough for the Celtics to take the night 116-107.
