Photographs of David Bowie and Kate Moss to feature in Sotheby's Made in Britain auction

Photographs of David Bowie, Kate Moss and Frank Sinatra are among the items going under the hammer at an auction celebrating British artists.

The Sotheby’s Made in Britain sale features pictures of some of the most iconic names in pop culture and fashion, including Twiggy, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles.

There is also picture of Francis Bacon browsing a bookshop in Charing Cross, as well as a photograph of Princess of Diana, taken by fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier in 1990, which is expected to sell for up to £30,000.

Prints from famous British artists are also included. David Hockney’s Autumn Leaves is expected to fetch up to £30,000 while Lucian Freud’s print of Pluto is estimated to sell for up to £60,000.

A print of Banksy’s Girl with Balloon is up for sale, with a guide price of between £40,000 and £60,000. The original was shredded last year, moments after being sold for more than £1m at a Sotheby’s auction.

Other items include three paintings from Beryl Cook, starting at an estimated £10,000, and a print of Patrick Heron’s Big Disc, Three Reds with Whites, which has a guide price of up to £120,000.

The auction takes place on March 20 at Sotheby’s London.
