Since it was introduced to the world back in November, Baby Yoda has become one of the most talked-about cultural icons.
Now, the adorable character has appeared in the skies over Colorado Springs, thanks to photographer Russell Klimas.
Mr Klimas created the stunning ‘light painting’ using a drone with a Lumecube strobe light attached to it.
To make sure the Baby Yoda was accurate, Mr Klimas first plotted the drone’s path on Google Earth.
Speaking to Popular Mechanics , he explained: “I put an overlay into Google Earth, added the place marks that the drone would follow, and then exported the list of points to a KML file.”
Once the drone was in the sky, it then followed the place marks, all while Mr Klimas captured the light show from the ground using a long-exposure camera.
While the resulting photo is pretty spectacular, the stunt didn’t go to plan the first time, and resulted in a broken drone.
On his Instagram , he explained: “Last time I attempted this I crashed my drone and it currently has two broken arms.”
This isn’t the first time that that drones have been used to create art in the sky.
Last month a stunning drone display was put on in Shanghai to mark the start of the new year.
Two thousand drones took off from Shanghai’s Pudong district before forming into firework shapes, an animated running man figure and even spelling out 2020 in the sky.
