Photograph of suspect released after failed Leeds bank robbery

Police have released a CCTV image of a suspect after a failed bank robbery in Leeds.

A man passed a note to a member of staff demanding money at the Yorkshire Bank branch, in Austhorpe Road, Crossgates, at around 2.50pm on Saturday, November 23.

The panic alarm was activated and the man left empty handed. He was chased by a member of the public but managed to get away.

He has been described as a stocky, white man, who is around about 5ft 10ins tall and in his mid 20s or early 30s.

He was seen wearing a blue padded jacket, a black scarf and black gloves.

West Yorkshire Police has launched an investigation and they are appealing for witnesses and information.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who recognises the man from the image or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact DC 2942 Rahim at Leeds District CID quoting crime reference 13190601927."
