Photo of man who police want to speak to after staff at Nottingham Co-op spat at in 'horrible incident'

Police have issued CCTV images following a "horrible incident" in The Meadows.

Officers are appealing for information after a member of staff from the Co-op, in the Bridgeway Centre, was spat at by a man entering the store.

The incident happened around 3.30pm on June 26 and officers have released an image from the store's CCTV to help with their enquiries.

Police Constable Jemma Fenn is leading the investigation. She said: "We are looking to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident.

"Do you recognise him?

"It was reported a man had entered the store at the Bridgeway Centre and spat at a member of staff.

"Given the seriousness of the current Covid-19 crisis, this is a horrible incident. No key worker should have to deal with that level of abuse.

"If you can help identify the male please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 498 of 23 June 2020."
