The lion startes into the camera near the hippo carcass on April 29, 2014 in Maasai Mara, Kenya. A ROARING LION shows off his razor-sharp teeth as he defends a hippo carcass in Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve. The predator is part of a formidable coalition of four males known as Notch's Boys. The unique shots were captured by New Zealand-born photographer Robyn Preston during an early morning game drive. While lions are capable of taking down larger prey like hippos, it is unusual since bigger targets come with a smaller margin of error, opening the lions up to potential injury if they miscalculate.
