Feb. 22--Former UCLA and NBA guard Earl Watson, who in February was named head coach of the Phoenix Suns on an interim basis, has sold his home in Encino for $3.4 million.
Built in 2008, the Mediterranean-style home sits on close to half an acre and has two gated entrances and a circular driveway.
The 8,573 square feet of interiors, with gallery walls and dark wood trim, includes a two-story rotunda entry, a screening room and a wood-paneled office. A wine room/wet bar sits off the formal dining room, and a chef's kitchen has two center islands.
Six bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms include a master suite outfitted with a fireplace, two walk-out balconies and a glass-and-stone steam shower and soaking tub.
Outdoors, a covered patio opens to a swimming pool and spa, an outdoor fireplace and a built-in barbecue. A separate pool house sits at the rear of the property.
Watson, 36, was a four-year starter for the Bruins and a 13-year NBA veteran. The former point guard was an assistant coach of the Austin Spurs, the D-League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs, prior to joining the Suns coaching staff last year.
He bought the house six years ago for $4 million, public records show.
